Revendications

Note : Les revendications sont présentées dans la langue officielle dans laquelle elles ont été soumises.

The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege
is claimed are defined
as follows:

1. An automatic and manually operable waste disposal unit meant to be
installed within a
kitchen island countertop surface. The waste disposal unit is unique because
it has two
accessible openings.
2. The mechanism as defined in claim 1 is environmentally friendlier than
the trash
compactor because it does not require heavy duty plastic garbage bags, and it
improves
accessibility to a waste disposal system within the kitchen environment.

Title: Automatic Kitchen Island Waste Management Machine
Specification
1. This invention relates to an automatic kitchen island countertop
mechanism that beautifies the
kitchen waste disposal system,
2. The nature of the device attracts attention towards the importance of
appropriate waste
management [by using the automated unit). When the open button is pressed, its
sliding
opening mechanism entertains the user. It allows the user to experience
positive emotions and
link them with waste management. It encourages the person to engage in
behaviours of
disposing organic waste, recycling, performing kitchen cleanliness, and
performing proper
sanitation. It improves ease of accessibility of the waste disposal system to
the countertop.
Additionally, it eliminates the need for the person to bend or slouch while
putting waste away
(only when taking the waste out). The person doesn't necessarily think that
putting garbage
away is a chore. Because the waste entrance is separated from the waste exit,
it enables the
user to develop their thoughts on the difference between what gets thrown away
within the
environment and what gets taken out of the environment. Because most people
are visual
learners, this invention attracts attention and allows users to learn from
movement. As some
people are auditory learners, they can link the sound of the automated device
to advancement
of green technology. For the learners who learn by touch, they also can learn
when they touch
the "on" and "off" buttons.
3.
The inventive idea enables the user to view waste disposal in
a completely unique way. Because =
=
=
= the device opens up from the top (countertop surface). Devices previous
to this invention
opened up from the side of the cabinetry, thereby limiting accessibility and
aesthetic appeal.
Prior to this invention, many people would experience disgust at the sight of
a waste disposal
system. Previous automated waste disposal systems include the trash compactor.
The trash
compactor encourages the user to psychologically minimize the use of proper
waste disposal.
The trash compactor also encourages the user to become less physically active
as the person
does not have to take out waste frequently. Additionally, because the trash
compactor
compresses waste system forces the user to use special, heavy duty thick
plastic bags, it is
=
oppressive on the public waste management system.

4. The device is bilateral and is made up of main components as indicated by
Figure 1.1 "Legend of
Parts". The device has two main automated buttons that are easily accessible
for the operator.
When the machine is not used by the operator, the machine should be set to its
closed resting
stage as indicated in Figure 1.7.
=
The first is the open button as indicated in #14. When pressed, it opens the
device by
turning on a vertical sliding motor mechanism, causing the #2 countertop
sliding cover to go
down below the countertop surface. Once the countertop sliding cover is all
the way to the
bottom, the #7 horizontal sliding motor mechanism begins to retract the #2
cover backwards,
below the countertop surface. Simultaneously, as it retracts the cover, it is
also opening the #8
garbage bin door' because of its attachment. During the opening process, the
arrows in the
upper section of the compartment show the direction of movement of both upper
door
mechanisms in Figure 1.2, Figure 1.3 & Figure 1.9. At the end of this stage,
both the #2 and #8
opening covers are concealed underneath the back end of the countertop. Once
the opening
process is finished, the user is able to easily access the bin and throw away
the waste.
The second is a close button as indicated in #15 (it performs the complete
reverse
function of the open button because instead of retracting the #12 and #20
arms/rods, it extends
them). By extending the arms/rods, it closes the entrance of the waste system.
This is illustrated
in Figure 1.4. The #2 and #8 opening covers horizontally move forward and
thereby slide out
from underneath the countertop. Once the #2 and #8 opening cover reach the
front end of the
countertop area, the #8 entrance of the waste disposal system is closed and
the #7 horizontal
motor system has completed its task. Next, the vertical motor turns on to move
the #2 cover
upwards towards the countertop surface until the #2 cover is completely flush
with the
countertop surface.
There is an anti-jamming mechanism installed within the waste disposal system.
When
the automated motors are working either to retract or extend the arms/rods,
and detect any
resistance from the horizontal and vertical sensors of #21, the mechanism
immediately
recognizes the change and reverses the action of the command in order to
prevent any injury or
damage. One example is when the #2 cover is in the opened stage, and then the
user presses
the close button. The horizontal arms/rods begin to extend and then suddenly
detect a sudden
resistance, perhaps because there is an obstruction. Once the resistance is
detected, the anti-
jamming mechanism commands the motors to reverse their command and the #2
cover along
with the #8 door goes to the opened stage.
The #16 Main Garbage bin drawer type unit from underneath the countertop can
be
opened and closed manually as indicated in the bottom arrows of Figure 1.2.
The unit can be
opened in order to take the #18 box like sub-compartments out of the system
for portable use.

mis& _______________________________________
For example, when any of the #18 box like sub-compartments are full, the
operator simply pulls
open the #16 Main garbage bin
type unit that is anchored into the #6 main garbage bin
holding unit2The.#1r, box like ;:z..-(:Jr-...;.,jr=trTlents then can be easily
accessible for the operator
as they can be taken out from tht 4.1.C: Main garbage bin drawer type unit.
The #18 box like sub
compartments can then be carried to their destination next to the dumpster.
Once the person is
next to the dumpster, he/she can throw out the waste or take out the #19 sub-
compartments
inserts and throw out the waste into the am-or:nate dumpster. The waste
disposal system
includes the management of unrecyclable tr, organic compost, and recyclable
bottles.
5. As indicated in Figure 1.6 and Figure 1.8, the #18 box like
sub-compartments are put back into
the #16 main garbage bin drawer type unit after the waste is disposed. The box-
like sub-
compartments do not necessarily have to be put back in the same order as
before. The #16 main
garbage bin drawer type unit can then be closed.
There should be appropriate amount of ventilation within the waste disposal
system.
'=iitionally, during the closed stage, the components in the # 10 vertical
sliding motor
mechanism can feature an anti-opening detector when it senses weight on the #2
countertop
sliding cover. This system can prevent accidental opening of the device.
