Canada-Israel Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) for Conformity Assessment of Telecommunications Equipment

The MRA between the Government of Canada and the State of Israel for conformity assessment of telecommunications equipment entered into force on January 18th, 2013 with an effective Phase I implementation date of November 26th, 2013.

This MRA Phase I implementation provides for the mutual recognition by both Parties of testing laboratories. Specifically, for Canada, the MRA provides for the Israeli regulatory authority (Ministry of Communications) to accept test results produced by recognized Canadian testing laboratories in assessing equipment compliance with Israeli telecom technical regulations.

Canadian testing laboratories wishing to be recognized under this MRA are invited to apply to Industry Canada for designation. The specific technical regulations for which the State of Israel will accept test reports from recognized Canadian testing laboratories are listed in the Annex I of the MRA, Phase I Procedures - List of Technical Regulations for Canada and the State of Israel. Phase II implementation will be announced at a later mutually agreed upon date between Canada and Israel.
